SWR Fernsehen
SWR Fernsehen is the regional television program for the states of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, which is operated by Südwestrundfunk. In accordance with the State Treaty on Südwestrundfunk, at least 30 percent of the current program is broadcast on a country-specific basis. The remaining 70 percent is designed centrally and can be seen in both federal states. The program went on air for the first time in 1969 under the name “Südwest 3”. In 2006 the program was renamed SWR Fernsehen. The television channel focuses on informative and entertaining formats with an emphasis on regional content. Topics such as politics, economics, society, sport, culture and entertainment are represented in the program. Crime series such as “Tatort”, reports and documentaries are also shown on SWR.
