Culture, music and insights. The current Radio 3, the third Italian public radio station published by Rai, was born - named Terzo Programma - in 1950 as a cultural radio channel on the model of similar experiences, already active since 1945, BBC Third Program and RDF Program National. From 1975 onwards the Third Program is called Radio 3 and is the fifteenth in the ranking among the most listened to national radio stations in 2021 in Italy. Radio 3 directed by Andrea Montanari is a thematic channel dedicated to culture and in-depth analysis. There is ample space in the programming for events with classical music, history, literature, art and cinema, economics, religion, mythology and philosophy. The channel also broadcasts Euroradio events, a network of European public radio stations that broadcast classical and jazz music and other cultural events.
