The channel was established as a dedicated channel for Israel's heritage[2]in the name of the heritage channel . It began broadcasting on June 30 , 2014 on Channel 20 on cable and satellite under the Channel 20 brand . On January 18, 2021 , the channel won the tender to broadcast on channel 14. In November of that year, it began broadcasting on channel 14, and branded under the new name "Now 14" , as a news and current affairs channel under the news department of the channel " News 14 ".[3][4][5] The channel is owned by the Israeli Jewish Channel Inc., whose controlling owner is the billionaire Yitzhak Mirilshvili .[6]After media personality Avi Bar exited his investments in the channel.
