The station hr is the regional television program of the Hessischer Rundfunk for the state of Hesse, which is part of the public media. The third television program of the Hessischer Rundfunk was founded in 1964 under the name “Hessisches Fernsehenprogramm”. The hr television provides all relevant information about Hesse, as well as entertaining stories from the Hesse regions and the big cities such as Frankfurt, Kassel and Darmstadt. The "hessenschau" addresses all important regional topics every day from 1:00 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. in the main edition. At lunchtime and in the afternoon, feature films and series are shown on hr television. Afterwards the magazine “hello hessen” will be broadcast live. Hessischer Rundfunk also produces programs for the ARD community program. The highlights of the hr program include, for example, "Tatort", "ttt - titel, thesen, temperamente" or the business magazine "plusminus", as well as the "boerse vor acht" and various weather programs - from the tagesschau weather map to "wetter vor eight". The television station hr supplies the cultural programs Arte and 3sat with contributions and participates in the ARD joint programs Phoenix, KiKA, tagesschau24, ONE as well as in funk, the content network of ARD and ZDF.
