Deutsche Welle (DW)
DW is the public German international television station of Deutsche Welle. The station went on air in 1992 as the successor to the station RIAS-TV and is broadcast via satellite. The production location for the DW television program is Berlin. In 2012, Deutsche Welle underwent a complete relaunch. The legal basis for the broadcast of this television program should enable different perspectives on important topics, especially politics, culture and economics. There should be a forum both in Europe and on other continents with the aim of promoting understanding and exchange between cultures and peoples. The channel focuses on topics such as freedom and human rights, democracy and the rule of law, global trade and social justice, health education and environmental protection, as well as technology and innovation. The content is produced in 30 languages.
