Euronews

Euronews is a pan- European, multilingual, 24-hour international news television channel created on January 1, 1993 and based in Brussels, Belgium. The network began broadcasting on 1 January 1993 and covers world news from a European perspective. In 1993, the channel was created by 10 European public audiovisual groups to compete with the American CNN International . Its trademark is not to have an on-air presenter, positioning itself as a “pure and direct news channel” . A radio version has existed since October 2012, Euronews radio and since January 2016, a sister channel, Africanews. Euronews broadcasts in 14 languages on terrestrial, satellite, cable, IP television and the Web . It is also available in hotels, airlines and shipping companies, international airports, railway stations, university campuses, and its programs are partially taken up by foreign television channels. Available in more than 426 million homes across 158 countries, Euronews is watched every day by 4.2 million Europeans, making it Europe's leading international news channel. Furthermore, its website is visited by an average of 7.5 million Internet users each month.
